As someone who is enrolled in the World Trade Center Victims Compensation Fund and the WTC Health Care Plan that are part of the Zadroga Act, we just want to say thanks to Paul Ryan for voting against the bill on three occasions.
Lyin’Ryan, as he has been affectionately named by those in the media for his inability to tell the truth, was out bright and early on the eleventh anniversary of 911 spreading his bullshit by saying,”never forget.” And those of us who survived the terrorist attacks on 911 want to let the GOP Vice-Presidential candidate know that we will never forget that you voted against the bill that was passed to help us.
After opposing the Zadroga Act, Ryan had the nerve to release a statement saying,
“Eleven years ago today, from Capitol Hill, I could see the smoke rising from the fires burning in the Pentagon. Like all Americans, I will never forget the moment that our homeland came under attack,” Ryan said in his statement. “For me, this is a day to remember those who perished on that day of terror, including the first responders.”
How awesome is it that he remembers the victims of 911 now in an election year when he needs votes but when the Zadroga Bill was on the floor last year, Ryan couldn’t be bothered with victims. Back in late 2010, the Wisconsin Congressman voted against the bill twice and then opposed the final passage of the bill early in 2011.
Sorry to be so blunt but Paul Ryan is a piece of crap. Many of us live with respiratory problems due to the air we breathed in that morning and in the weeks after the attack, Christie Todd Whitman and the EPA came out and said the air was fine.
It has since been determined that the air wasn’t fine and the EPA was taking their cues from the government that was afraid the financial markets would have plummeted more if Wall Street stayed closed. Their rush to get the markets back up and running put many people at risk from inhaling the toxic air from ground zero which is just a few blocks away from the New York Stock Exchange.
So Paul Ryan should look at his own record before he releases anymore statements about how he will never forget.
