On Sunday we were given a tease of what was to come in the 2012 ESPN magazine “Body Issue.” Earlier today they released the entire spread. Top athletes such as MMA fighter Ronda Rousey, running back Maurice Jones Drew and sprinter Carmelita Jeter are just a few of the world class athletes that stripped down for the fourth installment of ESPN’s top selling issue.

ESPN website has a full behind the scenes including surfer Maya Gabeira and New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski. For the most part the images are spectacular, especially the location shots of Gabeira surfing nude in the ocean and the shots of sailing phenom Anna Tunnicliffe ripping through turbulent waters in the buff.

Studio shots of WNBA superstar Candice Parker and top tennis player Daniela Hantuchova capture the full naked form of these amazing athletes while never showing more than a little butt. The images below also include Oksana Masters and golfer Suzann Petersen, they are tastefully shot with the athletes just relaxing dockside.

The issue is a celebration of some of the most incredibly fit bodies on the planet. This years group shot is of the US women’s volleyball team. The black and white silhouette of the six players at the net is a beautifully crafted artistic image.
