As we make that ever wonderful transition from the bitter cold of winter to the beautiful warmth of spring (and then summer, wooo!), we have to accordingly make some changes to our foot gear.
After all, you can’t comfortably take in the sun on a fine spring day with sweaty, stinky feet stuffed in socks and shoes. Not to mention, it’s all the more difficult to shed those shoes if you happen to have unsightly corns and callouses.
So let’s get your feet sandal ready. Take comfort in knowing that no one knows how make feet happy more than the podiatric specialists at NYC Footcare.
First things first, make sure you’re keeping those feet hydrated. Hit them with some lotion or cream. If your looking for an over-the-counter product to keep your feet well hydrated you can try Burt’s Bees peppermint foot lotion or coconut foot cream, Eucerin Cream, Curel Foot Therapy Cream, and Neutrogena Norwegian Foot Cream for extra dry skin. Dry skin leads to cracked skin, mostly on the heel but can happen on any part of the foot, and cracked skin leads to some horribly unattractive sandal wearing!
Also, your feet aren’t the only thing to keep hydrated, you should be drinking loads of water too. Doctor’s orders.
So now that you and your feet are nice and hydrated let’s get back to getting your feet looking fly.
If your restrictive and intolerably confining work shoes have been causing corns and callouses, NYC Footcare can help. For smaller and easy to reach corns/callouses you can start workng them down on your own with a pumice stone, file or pedi egg. You can also try a foot scrub to help with callouses and get rid of dead skin cells
That said, we know these unsightly areas can be difficult to reach and hard to remove on your own. If that’s the case, come see us at NYC Footcare with your corn and callous concerns or visit your local podiatrist.
