Why James Dolan Could Be The Guy To Kill Linsanity

I consider myself a traditional New York sports fan. The Yankees, the Giants, the Knicks and the Rangers have all been in New York long before I was born and are the pillars of the sports world in the Metropolitan area. The Mets, the Jets, the Nets and the other two hockey teams all arrived in the 60’s and 70’s and don’t have the history that the traditional New York teams have.

With the Yankees and the Giants, you have great ownership families. Even if you didn’t like George Steinbrenner, you couldn’t question his passion for winning baseball games and bringing championships to the Bronx. The Mara family, who have owned the Giants for over 80 years and still control half of the team, are possibly the most respected owners in all of Football, if not in all of sports.

As a Yankee and a Giants fan, I can say that we have been truly blessed with great owners. Then we have the Dolans, who own the Knicks and the Rangers. James Dolan is a bonafide idiot. This guy could have screwed up the 27 Yankees. His father Charles is still a somewhat respected businessman who made billions with Cablevision, but he has put his dunderhead of a son in charge of the Garden and it’s two teams.

The last time anyone won anything at Madison Square Garden was in the spring of 1999, when Latrell Sprewell and Allen Houston led the Knicks to finals of the NBA, but came up against a young Tim Duncan and a San Antonio Spurs team that proved top be too much for them.

We all know what happened with Sprewell and James Dolan back then and we saw this man take a winning organization and run it into the ground. Then a few years back, James Dolan brought in Donnie Walsh to try and pull the team up from the gutter it had been in under Isiah Thomas. Walsh is a basketball genius, and had the Knicks on the right track until last year when James Dolan got involved with the Carmelo Anthony trade and the Knicks ended up getting a great player, but gave up way too much to get him because of the poor negotiating skills of James Dolan. So like Latrell Sprewell, Donnie Walsh was out the door at the Garden and so was winning basketball games.

Just because you’re rich, doesn’t mean you’re smart and James Dolan is the poster boy for the rich, dumb son of a successful businessman who could destroy the hysteria called Linsanity, that has swept New York City over the past month.

Mitch Lawrence wrote a story tonight that is running in the Daily News and he is spot on. James Dolan is not just a dim-witted man, he likes to meddle. With the trade deadline approaching, the Knicks should just stay put and let the chemistry grow between Jeremy Lin, Carmelo Anthony and the rest of the new Knick acquisitions this year.

But if there is one owner in New York that could bring this thing to a crashing halt, it’s James Dolan, he could be on the phone right now playing let’s make a deal with any of the other owners in the NBA. To read the Mitch Lawrence story, click on the following link [NYDailyNews]

I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or
go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally confused .. Any tips? Many thanks!
